Thank you! 2026

Thank you for submitting your survey for the 2026 QuTeCMD project!

The next step is to complete the in-person pretest on math, physics, and critical thinking.  The pretest will take place on November 7, 2025 at 7:30 pm (save the date and time).  You will be given a study guide for the math and physics part by October 5 so that you know what the test is going to be about. The study guide will be sent to you via email to the anonymous address you will provide in the application. You will be informed of the room in which we will meet for this in-person pretest by November 4.

You will need to secure two evaluation forms from past Tuskegee University instructors of STEM classes by November 11. They should evaluate your timeliness, dependability, motivation, discipline, perseverance, accountability, problem-solving and organizational skills, self-assessment ability, and resourcefulness. The letters must be submitted to malcantaraortigoza@tuskegee.edu by the professor by November 11. Make sure to remind the recommending professors that your name and gender should not be revealed in the letter but rather ask them to use the telephone number you declare in your application to identify you. Please ask them not to use pronouns such as s/he, his/her, or her/him to conceal your gender.

The final selection will be completed by November 11. If you are selected, you will be contacted and you will be asked to provide your name and Tuskegee ID number by November 12, as well as meet Dr. Alcantara-Ortigoza either Wednesday November 12 or Thursday November 13 to verify your identity against the picture taken of you on November 7. All the information you provide in your application will be carefully verified. Among the selected students, only those who provide correct and accurate information will be eligible to participate in the 2026 QuTeCMD Project. On December 10, we will have a welcome meeting with the research group members and a tour around the computer lab.

Feel free to contact Dr. Alcàntara-Ortigoza at malcantaraortigoza@tuskegee.edu concerning your application at any time during the process from your anonymous external email. Just make sure not to reveal your identity. Good luck!
